How the paragraph counter works
Paste your text and the paragraph count updates as you type. The rule is the same one word processors use: blocks of text separated by blank lines are paragraphs. Leading and trailing blank lines are ignored, so pasting from a document with extra spacing won’t inflate the count.
Lines are counted separately — every line break starts a new line, even inside the same paragraph — and words use the standard whitespace rule.
Everything runs in your browser. The text you paste is never sent, saved, or logged anywhere.

What exactly counts as a paragraph?
Any block of text separated from the next block by one or more blank lines. Three blocks with blank lines between them count as three paragraphs.
Does a single line break start a new paragraph?
No. A single newline is a line break inside the same paragraph — only a blank line (an empty line) separates paragraphs.
Do extra blank lines at the start or end inflate the count?
No. Leading and trailing blank lines are ignored before counting.
Does my text get uploaded anywhere?
No. Counting happens entirely inside your browser — nothing is sent or stored.
