How the 2-stroke mix calculator works

A ratio like 50:1 means 50 parts of gasoline for every 1 part of 2-stroke oil — the big number is always the fuel side. Enter the ratio from your equipment manual and the calculator returns the exact oil dose for your fuel amount.

The math is a single division kept unit-consistent: gallons in gives ounces of oil out, liters in gives milliliters out. The result panel also shows the converted unit so you can measure with whichever container you own.

oil = fuel ÷ ratio (same units)

2-stroke oil mix calculator FAQ

What does 50:1 actually mean?

50 parts gasoline to 1 part oil — so every 50 units of fuel need 1 unit of oil. This oil mix ratio calculator does the division for you: enter 50 as the ratio and your fuel amount.

What happens if the mix is wrong?

Too little oil starves the engine and can cause it to seize; too much oil fouls the spark plug and causes heavy smoke. Always follow the ratio in your equipment manual.

Gas first or oil first?

Most manufacturers recommend adding the oil to the fuel can first, then the gasoline, then shaking the can to mix it thoroughly.

How much oil for 1 gallon at 50:1?

128 ÷ 50 = 2.56 fl oz (about 76 ml).
